Design and construction
Winning methods for your project’s success
Carefully choosing the management approach best suited to your needs is essential to ensure the success of a major design and construction project, because this is how each stakeholder’s roles and responsibilities will be defined. By developing a clear project structure from the initial discussions, communication about the level of service and coordination required by each stakeholder at all stages of the project becomes clearer.
Turnkey services
In a turnkey project, responsibility for the entire project is assigned to a company, usually a general contractor, who will oversee all stages from plan design to delivering the completed project. The appointed company will be responsible for the quality of the deliverables, as well as committing to deadlines and budgets.

With integrated project management, a contractor is appointed to lead the entire project. The contractor recruits professionals and specialized contractors required for the project. Engineers, architects, specialized contractors and equipment manufacturers work together in all phases of the design and construction process. They must be accountable at each concrete stage of the project in order to ensure proper progress, as well as compliance with specifications and budget. The target can then be readjusted if issues arise Thanks to this type of management, each step is validated so that the project can remain on time and within budget.
Learn moreTraditional project management
Managing a project following a more traditional methodology consists of the customer providing the project and awarding a contract to professional service firms to design the plans and specifications. In a second step, and following a bidding process (public or by invitation), the customer awards a contract to a general contractor to complete the work. The fixed budget cannot be modified without an addendum being issued by the team of professionals. In traditional project management, the contractor has full responsibility to oversee the work, suppliers and subcontractors as well as the deadlines and the budget.
